Russia launched a military satellite early Sept. 21 on a Proton-M rocket from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the first Proton-M launch since it placed a communications satellite into the wrong orbit Aug. 18, The Moscow Times reported.
That accident was the latest in a series of incidents that have raised concerns about Russia’s space industry, including the loss of three Glonass-M navigation satellites in December and the August failure of a Soyuz rocket carrying a supply ship to the international space station.
