The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, announced on its website that it has lifted a ban on launching Proton-M rockets equipped with a Breeze-M upper stage imposed after the recent failed launch of a communications satellite, the Moscow-based Interfax news agency reported Aug. 30.
A Proton-Breeze M rocket released the Express-AM4 satellite far from its intended drop-off point after its launch Aug. 18 from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
“As a result of the commission’s work, the ban on preparations of Proton-M launch vehicles equipped with Briz-M upper stages has been lifted,” Roscosmos said. “All of the necessary recommendations have been drafted. They will be put into practice before the next launches.”
