Marshall Communications of Ashburn, Va., was awarded two contracts totaling several hundred thousand dollars to continue providing off-site technical support for U.S. Defense Department (DoD) teleports in Germany and Virginia, according to a Feb. 19 Marshall press release.

Marshall in 2006 led a team of contractors that installed a set of digital broadcasting standards and software known as DVB-RCS at  two military teleports in Falls Church, Va., and Landstuhl, Germany, said Courtney Coleman, Marshall’s vice president of business and finance, in a Feb. 19 interview. The teleports are operated on site by U.S. government employees, and Marshall since 2006 has been providing around-the-clock technical assistance over the telephone, Coleman said. The two new contracts from the Defense Information Systems Agency extend the company’s services by one year, she said.
