Saudi Arabian network services provider Skyband has ordered an additional 2,000 HX satellite terminals from Hughes Network Systems of Germantown, Md., Hughes said in a March 26 press release.

Skyband, a very small aperture terminal, or VSAT, services provider, will use the terminals to expand its satellite broadband business.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Hughes in 2009 provided Skyband with a multisatellite HX Gateway to provide broadband networking services using Internet Protocols.

“We are proud to continue to provide Skyband with quality products and services,” Soheil Mehrabanzad, assistant vice president for the Middle East/Africa region at Hughes, said in a prepared statement. “Skyband has been a valued customer of Hughes for several years and we congratulate them on their successful expansion plans.”
