Russian officials have decided to create a personnel reserve to help close a generational gap in the space industry, ITAR-Tass reported Dec. 28.
“There are young people and there are veterans, but middle-aged people in the space industry are few,” said new Deputy Prime Minster Dmitry Rogozin, who is overseeing Russia’s space sector.
The agreement resulted from a meeting of Rogozin and Vladimir Popovkin, head of the Russian space agency, Roscosmos.
