Robert R. Cleave has been named vice president of new business and advanced programs for Lockheed Martin Commercial Space.
In this new role, he now leads the company’s Commercial Space division’s efforts in customer engagement, offer development, business strategies, marketing and sales, and advanced programs. The Commercial Space division builds and launches all of Lockheed Martin’s commercial communication and remote sensing satellites.
Previously, Cleave was president of Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, a wholly owned company within Lockheed Martin Corp. In that position, he managed all Atlas launch service contracts for non-U.S. government customers and all Athena launch service contracts for government customers. He also led the company’s long-range planning efforts and customer engagement strategies.
Before joining Lockheed Martin, Cleave was a satellite engineer at Rockwell International and founded XTAR LLC, which provides X-band satellite capacity to the U.S. and allied governments.
