Inmarsat today announced the appointment of Tim Johnson as head of the Enterprise Market Strategy group and David Wigglesworth as leader of the M2M division.
Prior to joining Inmarsat, Tim Johnson was the Executive Director of Iridium Communications’ Land-Mobile Business between 2013 and 2015, where he was responsible for over $150M in land-mobile revenue, in addition to developing the global distribution strategy for handheld products and services.
Between 2004 and 2013, he held a variety of senior sales and marketing positions at Iridium, developing distribution strategy and pricing, serving as product manager for the Iridium 9555 handset launch and also serving as Iridium’s representative to the UN Working Group on Emergency Telecommunications from 2009 to 2015.
David Wigglesworth also joins Inmarsat from Iridium, where he held a variety of senior sales and marketing positions for their M2M data services team.
Between 2013 and 2015, David was Vice President and General Manager – Americas & Global M2M Services at Iridium, where he led the strategic global management of Iridium’s Machine to Machine line of business including sales, business development, marketing, pricing and revenue resulting in increased market penetration and revenues of M2M related products and services globally.
Additionally David was responsible for sales of all products and services in the Americas during this period. Between 2012 and 2013 he was Vice President – M2M Data Services with responsibility for M2M business development activity. While, between 2001 and 2012, David was Director of M2M Data Services where he initiated and architected the delivery of Iridium’s M2M services, developed channel distribution and grew the line of business from zero to over $40M in service revenues. Prior to this, he held various sales and marketing positions at Certia, ORBCOMM and American Mobile Satellite.
