Computer Services Corp. (CSC) of Falls Church, Va., will continue to provide financial management, human resources, procurement and information technology support to the NASA Shared Services Center at the agency’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Miss., through September 2011 under a one-year, $38 million contract extension announced Sept. 28.
The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) was established in 2006 to perform various business activities, such as payroll, travel and agency-wide contracting, for 10 NASA field centers.
About 75 percent of NSSC’s 500-person work force are employees of CSC and its subcontractors; the rest are NASA civil servants.
NSSC is operated as a public-private partnership among NASA, CSC and the states of Mississippi and Louisiana.
