Jacobs Technology Inc. of Tullahoma, Tenn., received a three-year contract extension from NASA for engineering and science support at the Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston.

The extension is worth an estimated $978 million and brings the total value of the 2005 contract to $2.16 billion through Jan. 31, 2013, NASA said in a Sept. 30 release.

Work will be performed primarily at Johnson in support of the manned spaceflight center’s Engineering Directorate and Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science office.

Jacobs Technology’s major subcontractors for the work include ERC Inc. and Manufacturing Technical Solutions Inc. of Huntsville, Ala., and Barrios Technology Ltd., GeoControl Systems Inc., Hamilton Sundstrand Management Services Inc. and Muniz Engineering Inc. of Houston.
