NASA said June 13 it has picked five firms for awards under a $400 million solicitation for large general construction projects the agency expects to initiate over the next five years in Houston and New Mexico.
The work will be performed at NASA’s Houston-based Johnson Space Center, Ellington Field and the Sonny Carter Training Facility as well as the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico.
The selected firms are: Swinerton Builders of Arvada, Colo.; J.T. Vaughn Construction, LLC of Houston; Kiewit Building Group of Arlington, Va.; Skankska USA Building of Houston; and Hensel Phelps Construction Co. of Austin, Texas.
The guaranteed minimum amount of work for each firm is $5,000; the maximum value of all task orders will not exceed $400 million, NASA said
