The launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled for July 13 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Canada is playing a critical role during this mission by providing the inspection boom developed by MDA and laser camera system by Neptec. The extended Canadarm and specialized camera will be deployed in flight to inspect the outer surfaces of the Space Shuttle.

Media representatives are invited at the Canadian Space Agency in Longueuil where Astronaut Dave Williams will be commenting live on the launch of the STS-114 mission.

Many factors, such as the weather, may cause the launch to be delayed a day over several consecutive days. This event will move accordingly. Updates will only be posted on our website, www.space.gc.ca, so consult the site for the most recent information.
