Saint-Hubert, Quebec, August 5, 2003 – On August 12, 2003 at approximately 7
p.m. PDT, a L-1011 aircraft from the Vandenberg Air Base will release a
Pegasus XL rocket. Fifteen minutes later the rocket’s third stage will
separate, launching Canada’s satellite SCISAT into orbit.

SCISAT, Canada’s second space science satellite launched this year by the
Canadian Space Agency, will help Canadian and international scientists study
ozone depletion in the atmosphere.
