Iran’s state-run Press TV reports that the Islamic Republic is building a base from which to launch super-heavy satellites.
According to Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi, the base will enable Iran to launch 1-ton satellites into an orbit of 1,000 kilometers.
Vahidi also said Tehran plans to launch satellites into orbits of up to 36,000 kilometers next year.
