NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, Calif., will pay Computer Sciences Corp. of Lanham, Md., about $60 million to continue providing supercomputing support services through July 2013, the agency announced July 23.

Computer Science Corp. was awarded a two-year contract in 2007 to support the Advanced Supercomputing Division at Ames, which develops and operates some of the largest and most advanced supercomputers in the world. NASA has now exercised four of the contract’s one-year options; four remaining one-year options bring the total potential value of the cost-plus-award-fee contract to $597 million.
