China launched a Shi Jian 11-03 experimental satellite July 6 atop a Long March 2C rocket, according to China’s state-run Xinhua news agency.
The launch took place at 12:28 a.m. Beijing time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China’s Gansu province.
China said the satellite was built by the China Spacesat Co. under the direction of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. and would be used to conduct “space scientific experiments,” according to Xinhua.
