China launched a communications satellite for Pakistan early Aug. 12 from the Xichang satellite launch center in southwest China, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The launch of Paksat-1R was China’s first in-orbit delivery to an Asian customer and its first commercial satellite export to international users this year, the report said.
The satellite was lofted at 12:15 a.m. local time by a Long March 3B rocket and entered geostationary transfer orbit 26 minutes later, Xinhua reported.
