Saint-Hubert, December 7, 2000 – The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) invites
media to attend an event during which CSA Astronaut Marc Garneau will answer
questions from students and Navy cadets, live from Space Shuttle Endeavour.
The downlink will take place on December 9, 2000, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
EST, at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa. The event will
be webcast live on the Sympatico portal, at the following address:
space.sympatico.ca
Webcast participants across Canada can be part of this historic moment in
real-time from the comfort of their own home. By logging on to this site Web
surfers can get a glimpse of Canadian space history. During the length of
the mission, from November 30 to December 10, visitors to the Sympatico
portal receive highlights from the STS-97 mission and participate in an
online contest, featuring a special space kit.
The site is optimized for high-speed, broadband Internet access. Users with
