Saint-Hubert, Quebec, March 6, 2002 – The Northern Centre for Advanced
Technology Inc. (NORCAT), has developed a prototype drill for potential use
on a future Mars mission as part of a feasibility study done for the
Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
Raymond Bonin, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt and Diane Marleau,
Member of Parliament for Sudbury, will join Canadian Space Agency President
Marc Garneau and NORCAT Executive Director and CEO Darryl Lake for a
demonstration of the Mars drilling technology.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend this Mars drilling
technology demonstration. Dr. Garneau, Mr. Lake and CSA Mars Project lead
Alain Berinstain will be available for interviews.
