Information technology provider Atos Origin of Paris will support European Space Agency (ESA) satellite operations under a five-year contract valued at up to 100 million euros ($122 million), Atos Origin announced June 17.
The contract, with ESA’s European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, will include operational support infrastructure and services for ESA’s Sentinel Earth observation satellite series, the BepiColombo mission to Mercury and the future Galileo navigation satellite constellation, among other missions.
The contract gives Atos Origin the label of “Qualified Partner” for ESA ground systems and software-related activities. Atos said ESA expects the work to include flight dynamics and space-debris assessment.
