NASA said Sept. 28 it has selected Akima Logistics Services LLC of Anchorage, Alaska, to support logistics management services at the agency’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View, Calif., under a contract worth up to $48 million.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract began Oct. 1 and runs at least two years. NASA has the option to extend the contract by as long as three years. Among the services Akima will perform at the San Francisco-area NASA field center are shipping and receiving, warehousing, janitorial services and trash collection.
