Pullmantur Cruises, a part of the Royal Caribbean group, has expanded the satellite communications services it has long procured from MTN Communications, the Miramar, Fla.-based maritime networks provider announced Oct. 2.
The agreement extends and expands MTN’s 11-year relationship with Spain-based Pullmantur, which operates cruises in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and South American waters. The company is a leader in enabling personal devices to function aboard ships, and will be upgrading its ship-based WiFi infrastructure, MTN said.
The new arrangement will expand the availability of specialized applications, Internet services and crew calling aboard Pullmantur ships, MTN said. Financial terms of the new arrangement were not disclosed.
