Local news team KGET snagged some of the first images of the Stratolaunch carrier aircraft, the enormous satellite-launching airplane Mojave, California-based Scaled Composites is building for Paul Allen’s Stratolaunch Systems.
The Stratolaunch carrier aircraft will serve as a mothership for an air-launched multi-stage booster under development at Orbital ATK.
Stratolaunch carrier aircraft’s wingspan covers 117 meters, which is wider than any other plane.
