The U.K. Space Agency and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on March 30 signed a memorandum of understanding pledging the United Kingdom and India to expand their collaboration in space.

The memorandum identified three areas of potential collaboration, to include:

  • A series of joint satellite technical demonstration programs using satellite platforms from the U.K. Space Agency and launch services provided by ISRO.
  • Joint development of new commercial applications and services based on data and capabilities provided by Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites.
  • Cooperation on climate change models using space data.
