Toronto, Ontario, June 13, 2014 – The Canadian Space Commerce Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Yaroslav Pustovyi and Patrick Whyte have joined the Association’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Pustovyi received his Doctorate in Physics and Mathematics (Radio Physics) from Kharkiv State University, Kharkiv, Ukraine in 1996. He is a co-founder and Vice President of Space 1 Systems Inc.

“As a member of the board, I am excited to be a part of the team that will work to ensure that the Canadian space sector has the best industry association.”

Patrick Whyte is an accomplished veteran of the aerospace industry with more than 20 years of management experience, which includes his previous role as CEO of Comtek Advanced Structures. He is currently the President of Aerospace Services Canada Limited. Previously Patrick was the President of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute and a Director at the Ontario Aerospace Council. “I look forward to working with the rest of the board and the membership to further the goals of our Association.”

The vacancies on the board were created with the recent resignations of Arny Sokoloff (President) and Chuck Black. The Association would like to thank Arny and Chuck for the long-standing service to the organization.

The Board of Directors has chosen Marc Boucher, a current Director, to become the President on an interim basis with the next board election scheduled for early 2015.

“I’m very happy that Yarko and Patrick have decided to join the Board. I’m looking forward to working with them and the other board members to help grow the organization and to raise awareness and the profile of all the companies that work every day in the space sector. The work these companies do not only benefits Canadians in their everyday lives, but also helps people globally as their services and technology are exported.”
