Space Imaging, the world leader in
providing Earth imagery and related services to commercial and government
markets, announced today the opening of a federal sales office in Reston, Va.
The office is located at 12355 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 690, near the
National Imagery and Mapping Agency and the US Geological Survey.

Space Imaging creates mapping products from a variety of satellite and
aerial platforms and has extensive expertise in all security applications of
imagery, including decision support tools for national and global security;
military training; mission planning, 3-D modeling and simulation; disaster
assessment and risk management; public diplomacy, humanitarian relief and
emergency response; and facilities and environmental management.

“The Reston Federal Alliances’ sales team is focused on federal and civil
business development, military programs and intelligence, and homeland
security applications,” said Joe Dodd, vice president of Federal Alliances.
“We work closely with customers at all levels of federal agencies to define
custom requirements, identify critical infrastructures and provide decision
support tools. We are very pleased to now have the Reston office as a home
base, especially given its strategic location between two of our anchor
customers — NIMA and USGS.”

“The Reston office will also serve as a staging point for Space Imaging’s
policy, public and legislative affairs issues,” said Mark Brender, executive
director of Government Affairs and Corporate Communications. “Our goal is to
ensure there are wise forward-looking policies that encourage the government’s
use of commercial remote sensing technologies.”

Congressman Jim Moran, 8th Congressional District of Virginia, commented,
“I am pleased to see Space Imaging’s remote sensing technology play an active
role in the national security, federal, civil and homeland security sectors.
Space Imaging’s commitment to our government is apparent. High-resolution map
accurate imagery products will help our government better serve the taxpayers
across most federal agencies.”
