The Announcement of Opportunity for application experiments using the Engineering Test Satellite VIII (ETS-VIII) scheduled for launch FY2004 is now closed and satellite Application Experiment Promotion Conference. (Representative office: Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications) has announced the result.
As a result, 22 experiment projects, such as mobile communications and positioning experiments utilizing the features of the ETS-VIII, were proposed from Oct 15 to Dec 13 2002, and selected by the Committee on January 27, 2003.
Hereafter, specific plans for Application Experiments after the satellite launch will be examined and preparations for facilities such as an Earth station, etc. will be proceeded.
