An engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Ariz., is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ruth McClung, a 2004 graduate of the University of Arizona, won the Republican primary in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District Aug. 24 and now hopes to unseat U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a four-term Democrat, in November.
McClung, a self-described “rocket scientist,” earned a bachelor’s degree in physics before going to work for Raytheon as a guidance, navigation and control engineer.
