NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston is accepting applications from teams of kindergarten, elementary and high school teachers to conduct scientific experiments aboard reduced gravity parabolic airplane flights the agency intends to conduct in 2013, NASA said in a Nov. 30 press release.

The deadline for proposals for the Microgravity Experience flight program is Jan. 9. Selections will be announced Feb. 6. NASA will select seven teams of four to five teachers to participate, the agency’s press release said.

Flights will take place July 12-20, 2013, at Johnson’s Ellington Field, NASA said. Educators selected to fly also will participate in an online professional development course centered on microgravity science in the months before and after their flights, according to the press release.
