MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.
announced today that the company’s U.S. Information Systems
subsidiary, Dynacs Inc., has been awarded a contract by NASA’s Johnson Space
Center to develop concepts for the Enhanced Orbital Replacement Unit Temporary
Platform. The contract is valued at $275,000 (U.S.).

If the platform is implemented, it will aid in the efficient repair and
maintenance of the International Space Station by the Special Purpose
Dexterous Manipulator – now called “Dextre” – which was recently delivered to
the Canadian Space Agency by MDA.

Dextre will be attached to Canadarm2 onboard the International Space
Station.
