John Manley, Minister of Industry and Minister
responsible for the Canadian Space Agency, will announce the awarding of two
major contracts to Bristol Aerospace Limited of Winnipeg, Manitoba, a
Magellan company, to build SCISAT-1. This announcement will be made at a
press conference to be held on March 8, 2000 in Winnipeg. SCISAT-1, the new
Canadian Space Agency science satellite, will study ozone depletion in the
Earth’s atmosphere.
A B-roll animation of the satellite will be shown and available to the
press.
