Richmond, B.C. – MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has entered into new agreements to provide geospatial information solutions to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and to an information provider to a major U.S. electrical utility.
The USDA has selected MDA for the fourth year in a row to provide it with large quantities of statewide geospatial information for the National Agricultural Imagery Program. This information will assist the USDA in meeting the information needs of the Farm Services Agency.
Another existing customer has awarded MDA a contract to provide geospatial information solutions featuring its laser radar, or LiDAR, mapping services and products to determine power line damage, line sag and encroachment for a U.S. utility.
The combined value of these agreements is about $3.2 million.
