Telesat’s Anik F1, the world’s most
powerful communications satellite, will be launched today. When it goes into

television and enable Telesat to serve customers across all of North and South
America for the first time.
While the launch is taking place in Kourou, French Guiana, Canadian and

launch programming and footage via satellite, beginning at 6:36 p.m. EST.
Pre-launch programming, followed by the launch and post-launch show will
be broadcast via satellite starting at 6:36 p.m. EST, on November 21, 2000:
