CSA Astronaut Chris Hadfield and the crew of
Space Shuttle mission STS-100 will be at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in
Florida for the standard Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT) on
March 29, 2001.

The test is held at KSC prior to each Space Shuttle flight, providing the
crew an opportunity to participate in simulated countdown activities, and
ends with a mock launch countdown, culminating in a simulated main engine
cut-off. The crew also spends time undergoing emergency egress training
exercises at the pad and has an opportunity to view and inspect the payloads
in the shuttle’s payload bay. The following event is available for media to
attend during the STS-100 TCDT.

Thursday, March 29 — Media representatives may have an opportunity to speak
informally (scrum) with and photograph the crew at Launch Pad 39A. Canadian
media interested in viewing the TCDT may do so by logging to the NASA TV
satellite on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees West longitude, vertical
polarisation, with a frequency of 3,880 Mhz and audio of 6.8 Mhz.
