The National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) scheduled to
launch the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No.1 (H-IIA/F1) on August 25, 2001,
but decided to reschedule the launch to a later date. It is primarily
because a malfunction was found in a pressure controlling valve of the
second stage liquid oxygen tank on August 19. The valve was removed and
sent back to the plant for further cause investigation, but its shipping
back was delayed due to Typhoon No. 11, and that also contributed launch
postponement. NASDA would like to allocate sufficient time for the cause
investigation.

The new launch day depends on the progress of the cause investigation,
and the earliest possibility is August 28 in the current estimation.
The date will be announced as soon as it is determined.
