Intelsat announced today that its Board of Governors has elected Robin L.
Turner, Director of Satellite Investment for Cable and Wireless Global
Operations, and Ana Sequeiros, Director, International Operations for
Companhia Portuguesa Radio Marconi, as the new Chairman and Vice Chairman,
respectively. These positions are elected annually among Intelsat’s 27
Governors who represent the organization’s owners.

Turner also serves as the alternate Governor for the U.K. and Ireland,
whereas Sequeiros serves as the alternate Governor for the country group
comprising Brazil, Portugal and Uruguay.

“It is challenging to have been elected Chairman during such an important
time in Intelsat’s history,” said Turner. “With privatization scheduled to
take effect on 18 July, we are busy completing the final steps that will
give Intelsat the commercial tools to consolidate and enhance its leadership
position in an increasingly competitive market.”
