Harris Corp. of Melbourne, Fla., was awarded a $64 million third-year contract option to continue providing operations and maintenance support for the U.S. Air Force’s Satellite Control Network, according to an Oct. 28 Harris press release.

The Air Force Satellite Control Network, operated by the 50th Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., is responsible for the launch, operation, control and maintenance of Defense Department satellites, the press release said. The one-year option brings the value of Harris’ work on the program to $218 million since January 2008.
