Earth observation data sales are expected to grow at a 16 percent annual rate from now through 2018, according to the firm’s report, “Satellite-Based Earth Observation, Marker Prospects to 2018.”

The 128 Earth observation satellites launched in the last decade have generated approximately $20.4 billion in revenue, while the approximately 260 satellites that will launch over the next decade should generate $27.4 billion, the report said.
