PARIS — ITT Exelis said Jan. 3 it will provide operations and maintenance services in the United States and four other nations in support of the U.S. Army’s use of broadband satellite communications under a contract valued at $121 million.

Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, ITT Exelis’s Mission Systems division in Colorado Springs, Colo., will service satellite centers operated by the U.S. Army in Australia, Germany and Japan in addition to the United States.

The Wideband Satellite Communications Operations and Technical Support contract includes six one-year options.

ITT Exelis said the contract work with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and the Army Forces Strategic Command includes “operations and maintenance, life-cycle engineering, on-site technical assistance, equipment installation, depot-level repair, logistics, cyber security, training and sustainment.”
