Write a story about space and win a digital camera.
Tell the story of a space voyage or life on another planet, an encounter with aliens, or a scientific discovery. Think about the peaceful use and exploration of space. All ideas are welcome so let your imagination run wild!
Your story should be no more than 1000 words . The competition is open to students aged between 12-17 and divided into two categories:
1) 12-14 year olds
2) 15-17 year olds
Students from EURISY member countries, ESA member states and UNESCO European/North America member states are eligible to enter.
Send entries in English to fiona.hatton@bnsc.gsi.gov.uk by 15 May 2005. Entries in other languages should be sent to national focal points. Make sure you send an entry form with your story.
The competition is organised by EURISY, in co-operation with the Norwegian Centre for Space-related Education (NAROM) and UNESCO.
The science fiction writing competition encourages young minds to peacefully explore outer space. Students imagine and write scenarios that describe progress, developments and discoveries related to science or societal life in outer space.
The national focal point will select the two best entries (per age group), translate them into English and forward them to EURISY for the final selection by an international jury. Further details of the competition are available from the Eurisy Website and you can also download the Entry form.
