Willing to share with the media and affected communities satellite images of the Fort McMurray disaster, Effigis is making available to the public and media processed images to monitor forest fires. To date, the forest fire hitting the surroundings of Fort McMurray (Alberta, Canada) has forced the evacuation of more than 80,000 inhabitants and destroyed many buildings and homes to the ground.
Landsat-7 and 8 (NASA, USGS) satellite images allow seeing the extent of this natural disaster satellite images of the affected area before and after the catastrophe (respectively April 10th and May 4th, 2016).
