The final flight of Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled for July 8, 2011, at 11:26 a.m. EDT. The shuttle will bring four veteran astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), marking the 135th and final mission of NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
The 12-day mission will be the 37th flight to the space station and the 33rd and final scheduled flight for Atlantis. This mission will deliver an experiment designed to demonstrate and test tools, technologies and techniques needed to robotically refuel satellites in space, even satellites not designed to be serviced.
