Fairfax, Va.-based CapRock Government Solutions was awarded a contract in April to support the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) emergency restoration communications network, which serves as the backup for the FBI’s existing terrestrial connections.

Under the contract, which has a maximum value of $50 million and runs through March 2015, CapRock will provide technical design, network implementation, field services and program support for the FBI’s Satellite Diversity Program, which supplies critical communications services to law enforcement and field offices nationwide. CapRock said May 12 it will provide 24-hour, seven-day-a-week network operations and monitoring assistance for the FBI’s remote locations
