Calian Awarded Contract by Department of National Defence–DND–for Project Management and Engineering Services for the Surveillance of Space Project

Calian is pleased to announce that it has been awarded
a $2 Million contract by DND to provide Project Management and
Engineering Support Services for the Surveillance of Space Project.

If all option years of the contract are exercised, the total value
of the contract will be approximately $7 Million. The contract will
employ several personnel in the National Capital Region.

Canada requires assured access to space surveillance information
in support of its overall defence commitments. The Surveillance of
Space Project is a part of DND’s Joint Space Project which will bring
improvements to the Canadian Forces’ surveillance capabilities. The
Project will provide a contributing sensor system to the
NORAD/USSPACECOM Space Surveillance Network. The main initiative will
be the development of one or more space-based optical sensors to track
earth-orbiting objects.
