Following is a statement from
Boeing Space & Communications Group President Jim Albaugh in reaction to the
Clinton Administration’s decision to eliminate launch quotas on Ukraine:
“We are pleased with the government’s action yesterday.
We believe it is
the right policy, particularly in light of Ukraine’s strong relationship with
the United States.
Ukraine has been a solid business partner in our Sea
Launch program and we look forward to continuing our commercial
collaboration.”
A cooperative U.S., Russian, Ukrainian and Anglo-Norwegian effort, Sea
Launch is the first company to successfully launch commercial satellites from
an ocean-going platform.
Boeing is a 40-percent partner in Sea Launch.
