BIRD (Bispectral Infrared Detection) Satellite has observed eruption and
the following lava flow of volcano Etna last weekend. With its unique
capability to exactly measure the temperature, energy releasa and area of
so called hot temperature events (HTE) without going into saturation,
BIRD was able to make images on 2 days of the lava.
