MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (“MDA” or the “Company”) (TSX:MDA), a global communications and information company, today announced it has signed a contract valued at US$6.4 million under its Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to further enhance the flight path safety system that aids the design of airport approach and departure flight paths. The value of contracts awarded to date under the IDIQ agreement totals approximately US$20.2 million.

The original flight path safety system, developed by MDA for USAF and deployed worldwide since 2004, focused on the design of flight paths for aircraft fitted with ground-based navigation equipment. This contract extension will provide enhancements that evolve system capability in the support of aircraft fitted with both ground-based and satellite-based navigation equipment.
