MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract for $2.5 million (CAD) with ScanEx Research and Development Center (ScanEx) to provide RADARSAT data information to multiple ground stations in Russia over three years. The information will be used by Russian commercial, academic, and government users for applications that include maritime navigation, environment effects, ice monitoring, mapping and emergency response.
MDA has supplied ScanEx with RADARSAT data information since 2004, supporting a network of ground stations in Russia that are built, maintained, and serviced by ScanEx. The ground stations provide satellite monitoring support for the entire Russian territory, and adjacent regions.
