ViaSat Inc. has received a $5.5 million order from the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego for tactical radio system terminals and spares, the Carlsbad, Calif.-based company announced in a Sept. 27 press release.
The order adds to a previous order ViaSat received for Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVT) as part of an annual procurement.
MIDS-LVT are secure, high-capacity, jam resistant wireless communication terminals designed to provide U.S. military personnel with a digital view of the battlefield.
ViaSat is one of two U.S. government-qualified manufacturers of Link 16 MIDS airborne terminals.
