COLORADO SPRINGS, Col., April 10, 2007 (Harris Booth #400)— Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has formed a team to compete for a six-and-a-half-year, $455 million contract to provide operations and maintenance support to the 50th Space Wing’s Air Force Satellite Control Network at locations around the world. The announcement was made during the 23rd National Space Symposium being held April 9-12 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.

Harris is leading a team composed of Lockheed Martin Information Technology, L-3 Communications Titan Group, Faith Enterprises Incorporated, ASRC Aerospace, Arctic Slope World Services, Nortel Government Solutions and Günther Douglas to pursue the Network and Space Operations and Maintenance (NSOM) contract, which is expected to be awarded in late 2007.

The 50th Space Wing’s Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN), headquartered in Colorado Springs, is responsible for providing readiness, launch, early orbit/on-orbit support, and anomaly resolution for a variety of satellite constellations. NSOM will support this global, nationally critical network consisting of command and control systems, communications, antennas and support systems.

“The Harris team is uniquely qualified for the NSOM program, having established a legacy of unprecedented high performance on the Mission Communications and Operations Maintenance (MCOM) and Operational Space Services and Support (OSSS) programs – large portions of which will be consolidated into NSOM,” said Jim Prickett, NSOM Program vice president, Harris Technical Services Corporation. “We have worked with the 50th Space Wing for many years and look forward to continuing this relationship with the successful implementation of the NSOM program and all of the operational benefits and cost savings our team will deliver.”

Since 2000, Harris has been providing operations, maintenance and support services to AFSCN and Global Positioning System (GPS) ground networks as part of the $220 million OSSS program. Harris operates and performs organizational level maintenance at all ground stations assigned to the AFSCN and GPS at such diverse locations as Thule, Greenland; Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; New Boston, New Hampshire; and others. Work includes providing antenna operations and maintenance, GPS site software and hardware support, training, security, and management services at remote locations as well as satellite orbital analysis and technical assistance support at Schriever AFB, Colorado.

Since 2002, Harris has been providing operations and maintenance services for the AFSCN’s communications functions at Schriever AFB, Colorado and Onizuka AFS, California as part of the $355 million MCOM program. Harris provides diverse communications support services and operational efficiencies through site integration, scheduling, maintenance of technical drawings, database applications programming, local area network/wide area network operations, help desk functions, and military satellite communications terminal operations.
