The Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Space Agency, and the European Commission are jointly organising a conference on “Copernicus- Sentinels Serving Society and the Environment”, ushering in a new era for the most important Earth Observation Programme to date.

The conference will focus on how geospatial information and services empower public administrations and business to improve public services, to better their relations with the citizens and customers respectively, and to take better informed decisions on future territorial development, with socio-economic and environmental considerations in mind.

Europe’s satellite infrastructure Copernicus combines data from Earth Observation satellites and other sources to offer a hub of geospatial information expected to improve knowledge and generate new jobs in Europe’s regions and cities.
